What Gay Harem is

Gay Harem is the all-male entry in the studio Kinkoid's line of free harem RPGs, and its Nutaku page names Kinkoid twice, as publisher and as developer. The cast is male, drawn in a bara and yaoi style, and the content is aimed at an adult audience that wants gay and LGBTQ-tagged material. The game lives at gayharem.com and on Nutaku, where it is played in a PC or mobile browser or through an Android app file, and the studio adds a web app for phones and desktops. Starting is free, and Nutaku notes that purchases may exist inside the game. Anyone who wants a long-running collection game with a competitive layer, and who is comfortable with explicit, uncensored art, will know from these facts whether to read on.

How it plays

The Nutaku description sets out the premise: a universe where "manga guys" have gone wild, a mirror universe of video-game guys, and a player who recruits them, grows a harem and builds up a hero to defeat other players in strategic harem battles. Underneath the premise it is a collection RPG with stat management.

Recruiting is driven by missions. The Nutaku page says lewd missions let the player find guys and invite them to the harem, and that some can be rescued from villains or won over in Pachinko draws, which the page splits into Epic, Event and Mythic versions. Each guy in the harem has an affection level. Gifts raise it and higher affection raises his skills. Under "Character buildup" the page sends the player to the Market, where better equipment lifts the player character's own skills.

Combat is described as "RPG Harem Performances". The page says these involve different strategies and stat management, and that the aim is to impress a judge with the team's performance. Its summary calls the same thing strategic harem battles against other players, so preparation counts: which recruits were developed and what gear was bought. A "Harem Boost" feature lets the player advance the guys to bring the harem to its full capacity.

Competition comes in layers. Players from all over the world are the opposition in the "PvP & Leaderboard" feature, and the prize the page dangles is the top spot on an international or a national board. The Sex Champions are a separate challenge: impress them, the page says, and they pay out in guys and other awards. Clubs let players pool effort for shared rewards, and the game page has a club chat. The game page also carries a message telling a new player to come back when there are 15 guys in the harem, in the context of creating or joining a club.

Events set the pace. The Nutaku page says each month brings 4 events that introduce new hunks and daily missions, and the page shows a live event countdown. The game's weekly patch notes add content in steps, such as new adventure worlds and quests. The page also describes a story in visual novel form, with humor and references to manga, comic books, video games and pop culture.

On size, the Nutaku text says to find "over 200 (and counting)" guys in the Haremverse. A studio retrospective gives a larger figure of 1287 guys in Gay Harem, and a news post celebrates the game passing 1000. The 3 figures come from different pages and different years, and all of them are the studio's own counts of its roster. The Nutaku listing gives English and French as the languages.

Content and themes

The Nutaku tags name the content. Genres are Action, Adventure and Casual. Tags include Anime, Fantasy, Free to Play, Gay Harem, Kinky, LGBTQ, Muscle, Nudity, PVP, Leaderboard, Uncensored, Western and Mobile Friendly. The page calls the content "uncensored bara" and promises "hundreds of uncensored yaoi illustrations" that are accessible to all players for free. The game's site sits behind an over-18 question.

For the categories a reader may arrive from: the gay and LGBTQ side is the whole point of the game, since the recruits the page describes are guys and the tag list says Gay Harem and LGBTQ. The anime and hentai side is the art: the page opens with manga guys and the tag list includes Anime. Fantasy appears as a tag on the listing, and the setting the page describes is a mirror universe of video-game guys. The tone is humorous, as the page itself says, with references to manga, comics, video games and pop culture.

Sexual content is built into how the game works. Affection levels, gifts and the way fights are framed as contests all tie back to it, so it is not a game with an optional adult layer.

Platforms and where to get it

Nutaku's availability line for Gay Harem names Android, PC Browser and Mobile Browser, and Mobile Friendly is among the tags. The studio's own address for the game, gayharem.com, opens it in a browser. The button for Android users on Nutaku is labeled "Download Android App (APK file)".

For iPhone and iPad the route is a progressive web app. Kinkoid's 2023 article on installing its games names gayharem.com as one of the .com games with a PWA usable on Desktop, Android and iOS, installed from the browser itself and, on iOS, from Safari's Add to Home Screen option. Gay Harem is one of the tags on that article, and no App Store or Google Play listing is named for the game on any of its pages.

Price and model

The model is free to play. The Nutaku page says "Free Games may include in-game purchases," and its tag list includes Free to Play. The feature list adds that the illustrations are accessible to all players for free. Kinkoid's FAQ page files Gay Harem under its harem games, with help sections titled "Payments" and "Free Kobans" beside ones on game features, events and account changes, and it links a Gay Harem forum with a French, German and Spanish section.

In October 2026 the Nutaku page does not state a price for anything inside the game, and the game's own address shows none either.

Development state and version

As of October 2026 the Nutaku page lists a release date of December 04, 2018 and shows weekly patch notes. The October 7th notes, labeled Week #41, say that nothing new lands that week. The September 30th notes list Adventure World 16, WereSquid Island, with Quest 3, Shoot and Run, and say that Adventurous Kane will be added to the Penta Drill pool on the 5th of October. The September 23rd notes are again an empty week.

No version or build number appears on the pages read in October 2026. The pattern they show is a maintained live game, with new content in some weeks and quiet weeks between, and the studio's November 2022 Q&A included a session of its own for Gay Harem with the game's designer.

Who it suits

Gay Harem suits a player who wants a free browser or phone game with a male cast and a long-term collection and competition loop, and who likes tuning teams, spending gifts to build affection and climbing leaderboards. Its 4 monthly events, daily missions and weekly patch notes favor players who come back regularly.

It is less suited to anyone who wants a finished, self-contained story with an ending. The story exists as visual novel passages inside an ongoing service, and a lot of the game is daily missions, monthly events and ladders. Purchases may be part of the game, and their prices are not on its store page. The club features sit behind the 15-guy requirement, and the Nutaku listing offers English and French only. The content is explicit by design, so it is also not a game for anyone who wants adult material kept to the margins.
