Eroge in English
Eroge is the Japanese word for erotic games, and in English it has come to mean commercial adult games from Japanese studios, translated and sold by a licensed publisher. Most are visual novels with voice acting and a route for each heroine, such as Harem Kingdom and LOVE 3 -Love Cube-. Others are RPGs, Meltys Quest for one. Localization is what separates one release from another. Is the translation official, and does it cover the entire script? Was the game shortened or altered for the English edition? Are scenes uncensored, which the Japanese originals are not? Length varies from a single evening to dozens of hours, and episodic series are sold part by part, so check which part a listing covers.
