What the game is
No Thank You!!! is a Windows visual novel with a gay romance at its center, developed by Parade and published by MangaGamer. It is a comedy and drama title, tagged Yaoi, Gay and LGBTQ on Nutaku and filed under BL on MangaGamer's own store. You play a man who loses his memory in a car accident and ends up working at a bar that is not quite what it looks like from the street. The game is a paid download rather than a free one, and Nutaku's page tags it DRM Free.
That is the shape of it: a story-led BL game with a cast of adult men, voiced dialogue and a comic tone. It is not a free game or a phone game. It is bought once and played on a PC.
How it plays
The premise, in the words of the game's own pages, is that a summer vacation begins with a car accident. The protagonist shields a man from an out-of-control car, is hit himself and loses his memory. The man he saved is Kouichi Inui, who gives him a job at his bar, sótano. From the street it looks like a cozy little jazz bar. Behind the counter it is an outfit that solves problems the police and legitimate detective agencies will not touch. The staff give the nameless protagonist the name Haru, and over the course of the story he works his way deeper into the organization and into the hearts and lives of the people who run it.
Play is the visual novel format. Nutaku's feature list names visual novel style interactions and a deep-reaching exploration and choice system, and it also files the game under the Kinetic Novel genre label next to Visual Novel. Neither store gives a number of endings or a play time. What the pages do give is the cast, and the cast is where the game's structure shows. MangaGamer's page describes the men of the bar one by one, each with an age, a height and a blood type:
- Haru, the protagonist, listed at 22 with a question mark. The page calls him carefree to a fault and overly touchy-feely, and says he is bisexual. His amnesia is described as possibly a temporary side effect of the accident.
- Hiroyuki Akiyama, 22, a bartender at sótano. He is described as clever, caring and sociable, but shy and old-fashioned, with no dating experience.
- Ryu Kurosawa, 27, the head bartender and pianist. His customer service is flawless, but the page calls him neurotic and anti-social, with a fixation on cleanliness, and says he dislikes Haru on sight.
- Maki, listed at 35 with a question mark, the manager and head chef. He rarely speaks, hides out in the kitchen and leaves the day-to-day running of the bar to Ryu.
- Kouichi Inui, 45, the owner, who also owns several restaurants and a detective agency and is described as open-hearted and fond of alcohol.
The mix of a jazz bar, a hidden problem-solving business and a group of employees who do not much like one another is the engine of the plot as the pages tell it. Nutaku's feature list also claims over 3000 event CGs, which is the developer's or publisher's own figure for the artwork attached to the story. MangaGamer lists the game as full voice, so the dialogue is spoken rather than only written. The only language listed on the Nutaku page is English.
Content and themes
The pages tag the game Comedy, DRM Free, LGBTQ, Yaoi and Gay on Nutaku, and give the categories Comedy, Drama and BL on MangaGamer. In plain terms, this is an adult game about relationships between men, with sexual content between them, and its tone is comic with a dramatic side. MangaGamer's rating line reads "Without Mosaics", which means the version on its store is uncensored.
The character notes on MangaGamer's page set the tone as much as the tags do. Haru is written as a lead who pursues the men around him and takes very little seriously, Hiroyuki answers him with a flat refusal in his sample line, and Ryu's sample line tells him to get out of his sight. The comedy the stores promise comes from that friction, and the Drama category points to the more serious side of a story about a man with no memory inside an organization with secrets.
Platforms and where to get it
The game runs on Windows. Nutaku's page lists Windows Desktop as the only platform and says the game is available only on PC. MangaGamer's page lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP. Neither store lists a Mac, Linux, Android or iOS version.
The official places to get it are the Nutaku listing, where the game is bought and downloaded to a PC, and the store of its publisher, MangaGamer, which sells it as NO, THANK YOU!!! (download). MangaGamer's page also has a Free Downloads heading with a Download Trial link, so the publisher offers a trial of the game on its own store.
The Nutaku page prints system requirements for Windows. The required CPU is a Pentium III at 1GHz, with a Pentium 4 at 1.5GHz recommended. Required memory is 256MB, with 512MB recommended. It asks for a 1024x768 resolution, 32bit colors, DirectSound, 8MB of video memory (16MB recommended) and DirectX 9.0. These are modest numbers, and the game's own download is listed at 4.08 gb.
Price and model
No Thank You!!! is bought once, as a complete game, and the Nutaku page lists No DRM among the key features. As of October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at $39.95 with a Buy Game button, and MangaGamer's page lists the same $39.95. The two stores therefore sell it at the same price in US dollars, and the publisher's trial is the free way to look at the game before paying.
Development state and version
No Thank You!!! is sold as a finished game. In October 2026 the Nutaku page lists it as version 1.00 with a release date of December 05, 2018. MangaGamer's page, read the same month, gives its own On Sale date as Feb 27, 2015, so the publisher's store carried the game first and the Nutaku listing came later. Neither page publishes update notes or plans for more content.
Who it suits
This game suits an adult who wants a BL visual novel on Windows, with an all-adult male cast, voiced scenes and a story that mixes comedy with a mystery about who the protagonist is. It also suits a reader who prefers a one-time purchase to a free game with timers or paid currency, and a reader who is comfortable on older hardware.
The caveats are plain. It is a Windows game only, so a phone or tablet player has no official route to it. The Nutaku listing is English only. And the stores say little about structure beyond the choice system and the cast, which is where MangaGamer's trial download earns its place: it lets a reader see how the game reads before paying the full price.
