What Meltys Quest is
Meltys Quest is a light-hearted adult RPG in which the player guides Princess Meltys on a quest to restore her kingdom. The English version is published by Remtairy, a house that localizes Japanese indie eroge, and Remtairy's about page says it worked on the game with the Japanese developer Sachinama, who goes by Happy Life. The game is made with RPG Maker MV and runs on Windows, Mac and Linux on Steam, with other stores offering a Windows version. Remtairy describes itself as a publishing and game development house founded in 2017 to bring Japanese indie eroge to the English market in native English, and its home page carries the line that it has been localizing eroge into native English since 2017. Meltys Quest is the first release the about page names.
The English version is for outside Japan only, as the publisher's disclaimer puts it. The same disclaimer states that all characters involved in any sexual act in the game are over 18 years old.
How it plays
The publisher's quick pitch calls it a lighthearted RPG in which the princess may rack up a string of erotic encounters, which the pitch counts in levels, while trying to save her sisters. The setup is spelled out on the page. Meltys is a person who has fooled around all her life and cared about nothing but herself, until the Grolido Monster Empire invades her country, destroys her home and kidnaps her 3 sisters. With no castle and no one else to call for help, she decides she will somehow fix everything. The publisher asks players to watch over her on a quest that is light-hearted, sometimes comical, sometimes serious, and always erotic, to rescue her family and restore the kingdom.
Mechanically it is a story-driven RPG with battles. The page notes that the protagonist will usually have sex with the victor after losing a battle, which makes defeat a part of the content rather than only a penalty. Costumes are a second system: more than 20 are available for Meltys to dress up in, according to the feature list, and the labels in the page's gallery section name a princess dress, a maid outfit and a succubus outfit among them, next to a battle screen and the difficulty modes. The feature list ends on a joke about plot and plots, which fits the tone of the rest of the page.
Structure and length are described in some detail. The page lists multiple endings and a New Game Plus mode. It states a play time of roughly 8-10 hours for a first playthrough and 14-16+ hours to see all the content. Difficulty comes in modes: one aimed at players who want to get through the plot as quickly as possible, a Princess Mode for players who want a little extra challenge, and a True Princess Mode, shown as question marks, that is available only on New Game Plus.
The controls are flexible. Meltys Quest can be played with keyboard only, mouse plus keyboard or an XInput game controller, although the page recommends having a keyboard available during the sex scenes for the keyboard-only functions.
Content and themes
The game is fantasy in setting, with a kingdom, a monster empire and encounters with non-human species. The page's own sexual content list is long and plain. It names Male x Female, Female x Female and several group combinations, an open attitude toward promiscuous women, encounters with non-human fantasy species such as goblins, werewolves and halflings, sex in an open public setting, prostitution, pregnancy and lactation, and sex between blood relatives in a fantasy world. That list is the publisher's, and it is worth reading in full on the page before buying. The feature list counts over 60 sex scenes with over 80 different widescreen CGs, for a total of over 800 CGs, and those figures are the publisher's own.
The tone is comic at times, which sits against the long content list. The protagonist is a woman, Princess Meltys, and the English release is a Japanese eroge, in the publisher's own description of what it localizes.
Platforms and where to get it
The stores section of the publisher's page, read in October 2026, puts Steam first. On Steam the game is sold fully uncensored, in English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese, for Windows, Mac and Linux. The publisher's about page adds that Meltys Quest was released on Steam in October 2017 together with Sachinama. Other stores listed on the publisher's page are DLsite in Japanese, English and Chinese versions, Denpasoft, Fakku and JAST. Denpasoft, Fakku and JAST carry a fully uncensored English version for Windows only. The DLsite versions in Japanese, English and Chinese are Windows only, in a single language each, and have mosaic censorship that the page says cannot be uncensored, with no uncensor patch available.
That makes the Steam version the broadest: the only one on the list that covers Mac and Linux, with the most languages and no censorship. A reader who wants the game in Japanese or Chinese without mosaics is pointed to Steam too, because the single-language DLsite editions are the censored ones.
Remtairy also runs a patch page with free uncensor patches for games of its that need one on Steam. Meltys Quest is not among the games on it, which matches the stores list calling the Steam version fully uncensored: nothing extra has to be installed to see the adult content.
Price and model
Meltys Quest is a standalone game sold through the stores the publisher lists, one purchase per store. In October 2026 the publisher's pages give no price for Steam or for any of the other stores, so the figure to check is on the store page itself. Nothing on the game's page describes tiers, in-game currency or a subscription: the game is bought once from a store.
What the page does say about value is length: roughly 8-10 hours for a first playthrough and 14-16+ hours for all the content, with New Game Plus and multiple endings on top. The caveats are straightforward. The content list is broad and includes themes many players will want to avoid, so the list should be read before buying. Players on older laptops may struggle, since the publisher warns about RPG Maker MV. The DLsite versions are censored and cannot be uncensored, and every non-Steam store is Windows only. Finally, the English release is for outside Japan only.
