What the game is

Harem Kingdom is a fantasy comedy visual novel developed by Smee and published by Shiravune, written around a harem premise and sold as a paid Windows download. Nutaku tags it Fantasy, Comedy, Harem and Romance. It is a story-driven game with five heroines and five harem routes, and its key features promise a laugh-a-minute tone and happy endings for everybody.

A reader who wants a lighthearted other-world romp on a PC, with a cast of adult women and a comic voice, has the answer in those lines. A reader who wants gameplay beyond reading and choosing, or a free or mobile game, will not find it here.

How it plays

The premise is told the same way on the Nutaku, Shiravune and MangaGamer pages. A man who will soon be king is being lectured by his childhood friend Hikari. All he wants is to live easy and have a good time, and she will not have it. They talk things over, and in the heat of the moment his chest glows with magic. The two of them wake up in a strange seaside city with no idea how they got there. A woman who claims to be the country's chancellor explains that they were caught in a desperate royal recruitment that involved an inter-world kidnapping. He is enthroned without warning, and his first duty as king is to marry quickly. The royal order the pages quote is to build a harem and spare no pains in the kingdom's development and the propagation of the royal line.

The protagonist is afraid of love, and the story is the process of getting over it as brides appear in quick succession. Shiravune's own page puts it more bluntly, calling him traumatized where women and matters of love are concerned, and describing the place he lands in as a strange and thriving seaside kingdom. The pages name five heroines:

  • Hikari, the childhood friend, who is a capable housekeeper and becomes something of a guardian to him.
  • Charlone, called Char, a noble-born manipulator who is aggressive in matters of love.
  • Marrou, the youngest-ever chancellor of the kingdom of Palretta and his closest aide in official matters.
  • Sophia, a sheltered princess who becomes his fiancee by arranged marriage and finds a more playful side of herself.
  • Kiki, a quiet and intelligent heroine who is devoted to keeping those around her happy.

Nutaku's key features list five harem routes based on your relationships with all the girls, and happy endings for everybody. That is the structure the page commits to: you do not pick one girl and lose the rest, because the routes are described as built on your relationships with all five. The same list calls the game a laugh-a-minute visual novel and praises its art and characters. The genre label is plain Visual Novel on Nutaku, with Adventure on Shiravune's product list, and the play the stores describe is reading and choosing. None of them gives a play time.

On voice, Shiravune's page lists full voice in Japanese and English text, while MangaGamer's page lists the voice as Female Full Voice. Nutaku lists English as the language.

Content and themes

The tags are Fantasy, Comedy, Harem and Romance. In plain words, this is a comedic adult harem romance set in a fantasy kingdom, in which an ordinary man from another world is made king and has five women pursue him. Nutaku quotes the developers on the content: partial nudity, sexual references, crude language and humor, and the consumption of alcohol. The fantasy element is the setting rather than the point. It supplies a kingdom, a chancellor, a neighboring country's princess and a royal duty, and the comedy comes from the king's reluctance.

The developers' note on Nutaku adds that all characters are over the age of 18, and the tone the stores describe is comic throughout. MangaGamer's rating line reads "with Mosaics", which is a statement about how the adult images are presented on that store.

Platforms and where to get it

The game runs on Windows. Nutaku lists Windows Desktop under Available On, and MangaGamer lists Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Windows is the only system either store sells it for.

Nutaku sells it directly, with a Buy Game button, and lists Shiravune as publisher and Smee as developer. MangaGamer sells it as HaremKingdom (download), under its Digital and Moege headings, with the same developer and publisher credits. Shiravune, the publisher, keeps a product page for HaremKingdom under its Adventure listing, which describes the game and its languages and leaves the selling to the stores. The download is listed at 3.3 gb on Nutaku.

Price and model

Harem Kingdom is paid for once. Nutaku and MangaGamer each show a single price for the full game, with all the routes the feature list describes, and a button to buy or add it to a cart. As of October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at $29.99 and MangaGamer's page lists it at $29.95.

Development state and version

In October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at version 1 with a release date of October 09, 2024. The other two pages date it differently: MangaGamer shows an On Sale date of Sep 15, 2023, and Shiravune shows a release date of 24 Sep, 2021 with an update line dated 2024.09.13. Each date belongs to its own listing: the publisher's page carries the earliest one, and the two stores carry later ones of their own. The game is sold as a finished product, and the five routes and happy endings are described as part of it as sold.

Who it suits

This game suits an adult who wants a comic, low-stakes harem romance in a fantasy setting, with voiced dialogue and a cast of adult women, on a Windows PC. It also suits a reader who likes a one-time purchase and does not want timers or paid currency.

The caveats are plain. It is Windows only. The pages describe reading and choosing, nothing more, and give no play time. The harem premise is the whole point, so a reader looking for a single focused romance will be working against the grain of the game. And MangaGamer's rating line says its edition comes with mosaics, which matters to a reader who cares how the adult images are shown.
