What the game is

Waifu Shop is a free-to-play shop simulator and visual novel dating sim from Tender Troupe, which its Nutaku page lists as both developer and publisher. The player is the Master Trader of a small shop on a mysterious island, and the work is to grow that shop while collecting a roster of fantasy characters who craft, sell and shop in it. It plays in a browser and on Android, and the developer's own site also points to a Steam version. The Nutaku page marks it as free with the note that free games may include in-game purchases, and its tags describe uncensored, animated adult content with a male protagonist.

How it plays

The developer's page sets the game on Vesper Island. The Master Trader arrives with a unique set of skills and is meant to take a small island shop from humble beginnings to the peak of wealth, increasing the fortune and showing it off to the whole island. Harmony is the shop assistant who helps from the first minutes, and a roster of workers produces whatever goods the player asks of them. More goods draw more customers and adventurers, and the page describes the shop gradually turning into a harem as the cast grows.

The loop is crafting and trading. Nutaku's feature list names 300+ items to craft and sell, rare ingredients to collect, and extensive shop customization. The developer's own game page gives a smaller figure, 200+ items, so the pages do not agree on the count, and both are the developer's claims. Nutaku also tags the game with base building, collection and crafting, and describes the pace as cozy.

Adventurers add a second layer. The developer's page says the island holds secrets and dangers, so adventurers have to be equipped before they are sent out on perilous missions, and they come back with exotic items as rewards. Customers and workers each have a story, secrets and kinks to explore. In the shop the player bargains, flirts and presents gifts to raise a character's fondness, which Nutaku words as raising waifu approval with gifts, and it also lists an interactive chat feature with the characters. Exotic customers appear regularly and have to be won over for exclusive rewards.

Story is told in the style of a visual novel. Nutaku lists Visual Novel-style Storytelling and calls the game story rich, with romance among its tags. On roster size, Nutaku says 69+ fantasy waifus, while the developer's page says 50+, again different claims.

The game runs on events. Nutaku lists weekly animated events, and the developer's site says it delivers highly visual live events every week and calls the games some of the most content-rich titles in the adult free-to-play genre. The Nutaku page shows a live event countdown, and its news section covers seasonal events and updates, including a winter holiday gifts event built around a character named Noelle. The only language Nutaku lists is English.

Content and themes

The Nutaku tags are the clearest summary of what is inside: animated sex, nudity, romance, threesome, harem, hentai and milf, with a male protagonist, all marked uncensored. The art is anime in style, and the fantasy setting is the frame for the cast, which the page calls fantasy waifus. The developer's page describes sex scenes and animations that are fully animated and exclusive, and says each character has kinks of her own to explore through the story. The developer's news posts are written with jokes about the chores of running the shop, which sets the tone, and the studio lists its house style as a memorable art style, endearing characters and fast paced, witty stories. Tender Troupe describes itself as a small indie team making adult casual games, and Waifu Shop is one of the games it says it developed and published itself.

Platforms and where to get it

Nutaku lists the game as available on Android, PC and browser, and it offers an Android APK download and a browser version on its own game page. A phone-friendly layout is among its tags. The developer's site separately says its games can be played on PC, in a browser and on Android devices, through Steam or Nutaku, and its game page carries a Play on Steam button, while the games overview offers both Play on Steam and Play on Nutaku for this title. The developer's Waifu Shop page also describes the game as running in a browser and on Android. Nutaku's tag list also carries a Nutaku Exclusive tag, which sits oddly beside the developer's Steam buttons, and neither page says how the two versions differ. The developer also links a Discord community and a Patreon page, where it says it posts in-progress art from upcoming events.

Price and model

The durable fact is the model: free to play, with optional in-game purchases, as the Nutaku page notes. Starting is free on Nutaku, where the button reads Play Free Now, and the developer places its games in the adult free-to-play genre. As of October 2026 neither the Nutaku page nor the developer's site lists what any purchase costs, so the purchase options only show themselves inside the game. Progress is tied to things the game hands out or sells over time: rare ingredients that have to be unlocked, gifts that raise a character's approval, and exclusive rewards from exotic customers and weekly events. The developer's Patreon page is a separate way to support the studio's art and is not described as part of the game's own economy.

Development state and version

As of October 2026 the Nutaku page gives a release date of October 24, 2024 and lists a news post headed Waifu Shop Updates v1.71 dated December 13, 2024, in which the developers say they are increasing in-game communication through news and code systems. Its other news posts are a February 2025 update and a winter holiday gifts post dated December 25, 2025. No later version number appears on the pages. The developer does say it is working on new titles and a steady flow of new content for the games already out, and the weekly events point to active upkeep.

Who it suits

Waifu Shop suits someone who wants a free shop and crafting game with a dating layer, played in short sessions in a browser or on a phone, and who does not mind a steady stream of events and limited-time content. It also suits a reader who likes anime art with a lighthearted tone. The limits are plain. Free games on Nutaku may include in-game purchases, their cost is not published, and the weekly events mean there is always a limited-time item to chase. English is the only language listed, and the two official pages disagree on how many characters and items the game holds.
