What the game is

Amanatsu is a romantic comedy visual novel for Windows, developed by Azarashi Software and published by Shiravune. It is a paid download, sold on Nutaku, on MangaGamer and on GOG, where the store carries it under the name AMANATSU ~Perfect Edition~. Nutaku files it under Adventure and Visual Novel, with Big Breasts, Comedy, Cute and Romance as content tags.

That gives a reader the shape quickly. It is a light, summer-in-the-countryside romance with three heroines, a Japanese voice cast, and a stated length of 5+ hours. It is not a free game, it is not on phones, and it has no gameplay beyond reading and choosing.

How it plays

The premise runs the same way on every page. Haruto leaves the big city for a coastal town surrounded by blue sea and deep-green mountains. Coming from the rat race of urban society, he half-expects another uphill challenge in a new battlefield, and finds that nothing could be further from the truth. From day one he is befriended by the people around him and learns to sit back and enjoy life, while he gets to know three very different heroines who inspire another kind of sea change in him. The pages describe the story as a unique love story in which friendships and romance interweave over one dazzling summer, and in which one heroine's affections bloom from nascent butterflies into deepest love.

The three heroines are named with short character notes:

  • Kazuha Ainokura, the quiet daughter of the family that takes him in. She is strong-willed and a bit stubborn, with a tough exterior, and the relationship starts awkwardly because of initial misunderstandings and living under one roof. She is fundamentally caring.
  • Kogane Amahara, who is always sunny and high-energy, and whom he meets through a sudden and dramatic encounter. She gets along with everyone but never really lets people in, and shows excellent athletic prowess.
  • Yashiro Kaminashi, a priestess at the Nanakayama Shrine with a silly streak. She spends a lot of time alone, does not express her emotions openly, and is a daydreamer who can be slow to catch on.

Nutaku's key features describe the structure as a multi-choice, single-ending visual novel with 5+ hours until credits. That is a useful pair of facts: the player makes choices, and the story arrives at one ending. The GOG description repeats the same line under its own heading, GAMEPLAY & FEATURES, and gives the length as 5 hours. Neither store describes stats, exploration or battles, so the play is reading and choosing.

On voice, Nutaku lists a star-studded cast of professional Japanese voice talent, and Shiravune's page gives full voice in Japanese. MangaGamer lists the voice as Voiced Except Main Character, so the protagonist's lines are text. Text is available in English on Shiravune, with Traditional and Simplified Chinese beside it, and Nutaku's language list reads Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese.

Content and themes

The tags are Big Breasts, Comedy, Cute and Romance, and MangaGamer's categories are Comedy, Romance, Big Boobs, 3rdParty and Chinese Support. GOG's tag list adds Story Rich, 2D, Casual, Choices Matter, Relaxing, Emotional and Dating Sim, and marks the adult side with Mature, Sexual Content, Nudity and NSFW. In plain words, this is a romantic comedy with adult content in a quiet seaside setting, and the tags point to a gentle, lighthearted tone. The developers' content note on Nutaku reads: contains occasional crude humor, crass language. They add that all love interests are 18 years of age or older.

The game's genre label on Nutaku is Adventure alongside Visual Novel, but nothing on the pages describes puzzles or exploration, so the adventure label refers to the story. MangaGamer's rating line reads "with Mosaics", and the GOG page says that buying there gets the buyer a censored version of the game. GOG also lists a DLC entry named AMANATSU ~Perfect Edition~ UNRATED beside the base game. So the store matters for how the adult scenes are presented, and each store states its own version in its own words.

Platforms and where to get it

The game runs on Windows. Nutaku lists Windows Desktop, MangaGamer lists Windows 10 and Windows 11, and GOG says AMANATSU ~Perfect Edition~ is officially supported on Windows. Not one of these stores offers a build for another system.

Several official pages sell or describe it. Nutaku sells it with a Buy Game button, and the download is listed at 3.6 gb. MangaGamer carries it as Amanatsu Perfect Edition (download), filed under its Digital and Moege headings. Shiravune, the publisher, has a product page for AMANATSU ~Perfect Edition~ that describes the game and lists its languages. GOG sells the edition without DRM: its FAQ says GOG games have no DRM, can be played offline, and that GOG Galaxy is not needed because a fully offline installer is available.

GOG's page lists minimum requirements of Windows 10 64bit or Windows 11, an Intel Core i processor, 4 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620 or later, DirectX version 11 and 4 GB of available space. The recommended line keeps the same system, processor and graphics and raises the memory to 8 GB of RAM and the storage to 8 GB.

Price and model

Amanatsu is paid for once, wherever it is bought: each store shows a single price for the full game and a cart or buy button. As of October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at $19.99 and MangaGamer lists it at $19.95. A buyer on GOG sees one price as well, in CHF, EUR or USD depending on which of the three is selected in that store. Shiravune's own page describes the game and leaves the selling to the stores.

Since the same edition is sold in several places, a reader can compare them. The differences the stores state themselves are about censorship: MangaGamer's rating line says with Mosaics, and GOG says its version is the censored one. In October 2026 GOG's own user rating for the game reads 3.6/5 from 6 reviews.

Development state and version

In October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at version 1, with a download size of 3.6 gb. MangaGamer's page, read the same month, gives an On Sale date of May 17, 2024, and Shiravune lists a release date of 17 May, 2024 with an update line dated 2024.09.24. GOG's product details carry 2024 as well. The stores sell Amanatsu as a finished story with a single ending, and Shiravune's update line is the only sign of any change after release. The pages do not say what that update changed.

Who it suits

This game suits an adult who wants a warm, funny romance set in a coastal town, with a Japanese voice cast, English text and a choice of three heroines, on a Windows PC. It also suits a reader who prefers to buy from a store without DRM.

The caveats are real. It is Windows only. It has a single ending, so a reader who wants branching finales will not find them. The protagonist is not voiced on MangaGamer's listing. And the GOG edition is the censored one, so the store a reader picks changes what they get.
