What RE-Destiny is

RE-Destiny is a single-player fantasy adventure that pairs visual novel storytelling with match-3 puzzle battles and a light layer of RPG progression. The GOG page lists D-Ark Studio and MediBang Games as the companies behind it, gives 2021 as the year in its product details, and names Windows as the system it works on. It is a paid game on GOG, where an entry screen marks it as mature content recommended only for ages 18+.

In short, this is a story-led puzzle game with adult content, built around a Japanese folklore setting, and it is played alone on a Windows PC.

How it plays

The premise, in the developer's words on the store page, centers on the Onmyoji world of the Heian period. The player is a wanderer Onmyoji who is killed by accident and then possessed by the Vermillion Bird. With the power of that mythical creature the character is reincarnated and finds many burned dead bodies at the scene. Along the way the player meets Himiko, a tengu, and Lady Toko, who is described as the vessel used to seal Orochi, the great malevolent Serpent Demon. Together they set out to find Yasuna, the master of Himiko, in order to solve the issue each member carries.

So the structure is a road story with a small traveling party, told through visual novel scenes. Between those scenes the game turns into a puzzle battler. The store lists "Match-3 with light RPG elements" as the first of its features, and the genre line reads Adventure, Visual Novel and Fantasy. The fights are match-3 boards, and the RPG side is supplied by what the page calls a unique passive skill tree and spells to unlock. The feature list on the page adds a few more concrete points. Players collect quest items and reach hidden chapters, so progress is not only a straight line through the story. The page also promises character art and animations, and a Japan-inspired story and design. The tag list includes Story Rich, Choices Matter, Multiple Endings, Combat, Arcade and Role-playing, which tells a reader that the developer positions it as a branching story with fights between scenes, not a linear slideshow.

The developer's description does not give a play time, a chapter count or an ending count.

Content and themes

The page's tags carry the content description: Mature, Sexual Content, Nudity, NSFW and Hentai, next to Casual, Fantasy and Adventure. Under the feature list the description repeats the point in a sentence of its own, saying the content may not be appropriate for all ages or for viewing at work. The page describes a Japan-inspired story and design and names character art and animations as a feature. The store text calls the setting the Onmyoji world, so the fantasy here comes from Japanese folklore: a bird spirit, a tengu, a sealed serpent demon.

The puzzle side shows up in the tags too, as Casual, Arcade and Match3. Readers who care about the adult scenes should note one detail on the GOG page. The store lists a downloadable add-on called Re:DESTINY 18+ Patch, and it is marked "depreciated" (the store's spelling). The store's own text gives the patch a name and a label and nothing more.

Platforms and where to get it

The one platform the pages name is Windows. Both the "Works on" line in the game details and the answer to the compatibility question in the FAQ say Windows. The listed minimum requirements are Windows 10, an Intel Pentium D processor or equivalent, a Geforce GT 610 with 1024 MB or equivalent, and 500 MB of available storage. The page prints a recommended-requirements heading but no separate figures for it.

The official place to get it is the GOG store page. It comes DRM free with an offline installer, and the FAQ says the GOG Galaxy client is optional for this game, used only for achievements and cloud saves. The store's own purchase notes say no activation or online connection is required to play, and that it gives full refunds up to 30 days.

The game is single-player, and the store lists Overlay among its features.

The header of the GOG page reads "English & 3 more", and the language table names Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese beside English, with audio and text columns for each. The page lists no Mac or Linux version and no Android or browser edition.

Price and model

RE-Destiny is bought once. The GOG page has a single price for the game and a cart button, and what the buyer gets is the Windows game to download and keep.

That single price appears in whichever currency is chosen on the store, and CHF, EUR and USD are the three the page gives.

In October 2026 the store's own user rating on the page reads 2.8/5 from 5 reviews. That is the GOG community's figure, and it rests on those 5 reviews alone. The page also offers a "Secret Lite Bundle" that pairs RE-Destiny with other MediBang titles, but gives no bundle price.

The Re:DESTINY 18+ Patch appears as a DLC entry on the same page, as an item of its own beside the base game.

Development state

RE-Destiny is sold as a released game. The GOG page read in October 2026 carries 2021 in its product details and a release date of 2021-11-19 in its game details, and it sells the game at a normal store price with full minimum requirements. The page does not name a version or build number or an update date. The patch listed as a DLC is marked "depreciated" by the store.

Who it suits

RE-Destiny suits a Windows player who wants a compact, folklore-flavored fantasy story with match-3 battles and a skill tree, bought once and stored as a DRM-free installer. It also fits someone who likes visual novels with a puzzle layer, and who wants multiple endings and hidden chapters rather than a single path.

It suits less well a reader who wants a long game with a stated length, since the developer makes no play-time claim. It is also not for players on Mac, Linux or phones, since only Windows is named. Others may find the match-3 combat a sticking point if they prefer pure reading. For the adult content, the patch entry on the store page is the detail that matters most.
