What the game is
The Menagerie is an 18+ original western eroge made by Studio Lupiesoft, in the Nutaku page's own words, and it is a fantasy visual novel for Windows, Mac and Linux. The Nutaku page names Lupiesoft as developer and MangaGamer as publisher. MangaGamer's own page lists Studio Lupiesoft as developer and MangaGamer as publisher too, while FAKKU's page names Studio Lupiesoft as both. It is a paid download, sold with no DRM.
The story is told from the point of view of Rao-Ji, a Drachene futanari heroine, and follows 6 characters in a fantasy world. The tags are Hentai, Fantasy, Futanari, Yuri, Monster Girl, Females Only and Transgender. That makes it a western-made adult visual novel with a female lead and a fantasy cast of women, several of them not human. MangaGamer lists the game with no voice, so it is read and not heard.
How it plays
Nutaku's summary is short. The game tells the story of 6 characters from Rao-Ji's perspective, and the player joins Rao-Ji on her adventure within The Menagerie, where she meets several rather strange people. The key features list 6 characters in a fantasy setting to explore, the heroine among them, and visual novel style interactions. So the structure is one protagonist and the women she meets inside the Menagerie, each of whom the story lets the player get to know.
MangaGamer's page fills in the setting with a character list, and the characters are drawn from different peoples of the fantasy world:
- Rao-Ji is a Drachene, found as an egg within the Rift and brought back to the city of Alabast. The page says little was known about the Drachene, who are secretive about their origins and homelands. Cut off from her people, Rao-Ji has never learned what being a Drachene means, and the page adds that she has never known what being free is.
- Monkey is a Caprician, a curious tree-dwelling people from the Rift who build their homes among its rocks and ancient trees, sheltered from the wind, rain, lightning and flooding the page says the Rift is prone to.
- Jouya Askari is a spice dealer, known across the country of Alabasta for her sharp tongue and her head for business, who runs trading caravans between neighboring countries and charges smaller merchants to join them.
- Sabei Koni is a noble of questionable heritage who trained in sword fighting, became known for her saber skills and led campaigns through the Rift. The page calls her greedier for new knowledge and unique experiences than for possessions.
- Aishi Aza belongs to the nomadic Dark Elves of the lunar umbra, which the page describes as an eerie place where the wind never blows. Her people have no cities and no written history, and a rigid caste system passes knowledge down from memory.
- Asumamiya was taken from a lake and has lived within the Menagerie for years. She lives alone in an often neglected wing of it, and the page says she has come to miss the attention she used to receive.
Those notes show where the writing puts its effort: each woman comes with a people, a homeland and a history, and the Menagerie is the place where those histories meet. MangaGamer's category list includes Fantasy, Futanari, 3rdParty, English Origin, Yuri, Elves and Monster Girl, and English Origin matches Nutaku's description of a western eroge written in English. MangaGamer lists the game as having no voice, so the story is delivered as text. The only language listed is English. Neither store gives a play time or a number of endings.
Content and themes
The tags name the content plainly: Hentai, Futanari, Yuri, Monster Girl, Females Only and Transgender on Nutaku, with the same fantasy, futanari, yuri, elves and monster girl categories repeated on MangaGamer and similar tags on FAKKU. In plain words, this is an adult fantasy game in which the cast is all women, several of them non-human, the lead is a futanari character, and the sexual content is uncensored. The Nutaku key features list Uncensored CGs, and MangaGamer's rating line reads "Without Mosaics".
The setting is a fantasy world of different peoples and countries, with a menagerie, a rift and a city as its places.
Platforms and where to get it
The game runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. Nutaku's Available On line lists Linux, Windows Desktop and Mac OSX, and MangaGamer lists Linux, OS X, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista and Windows XP. There is no Android or iOS build on these pages, and Nutaku adds that the game is only available on PC.
Nutaku's system requirements are given for each platform. On Windows: Windows XP and up, a Core2 Duo 2Ghz, 2GB of memory, 450MB of disk space, a 1280x720 resolution, DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL 2.0. On Mac: Mac OS X 10.6 or later, a 2Ghz processor, 2GB of memory and 450MB of disk space. On Linux: x86 or 64bit, a Core2 Duo 2Ghz, 2GB of memory and 450MB of disk space. FAKKU's own page for the game gives lower figures for Windows XP: a Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of available space. Nutaku's memory figure is the higher of the two.
The official places to get it are Nutaku and MangaGamer, whose page offers Add To Cart and Add to Wishlist buttons and a Download Trial link under Free Downloads. FAKKU has a page for the game under its Hentai Games section, but that page states that there are no download links available for The Menagerie, so it is a reference page and not a place to buy it. The Nutaku download is listed at 305.93 mb.
Price and model
The Menagerie is bought once, and MangaGamer offers a free trial download beside the paid game. Nutaku lists No DRM among the key features. As of October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at $16.00, and MangaGamer's page lists it at $15.95.
Development state and version
In October 2026 the Nutaku page lists the game at version 1.0, in English, with a download size of 305.93 mb. MangaGamer's page gives an On Sale date of Oct 2, 2015, read the same month. Both stores sell it as a released game with its full cast in place. The two store pages carry no update notes and no plans for further content.
Who it suits
This game suits an adult who wants a fantasy visual novel with a cast of women from invented peoples, a female lead and an uncensored western-made story, on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer. It also suits a reader who wants to try before paying, since MangaGamer offers a trial download, and one who prefers a single purchase to a free game with timers.
The caveats are specific. There is no voice acting, so it is read only. The stores give no play time, which is one more reason the MangaGamer trial is useful. And it is a PC game, with no phone version listed.
